About Momo Jord.
A small hammock workshop in Hälsingland. We design and sell hammock gear we use ourselves every week — for anyone who wants to sleep among the trees without it feeling like an expedition.
I got tired of being a reseller.
After fifteen years in the hammock world, enough was enough. I had sold other people's gear for years — good stuff, but rarely quite right. Something always chafed: too short, too narrow, a suspension that fought back, a bug net you couldn't stow away.
So I drew my own range, exactly the way I want it myself. Affordable, simple, a joy to use — and made for the Nordic outdoors.
It became a hammock, an underquilt, a topquilt, a tarp and a handful of small, clever things. This is what I pack myself when I head into the Hälsingland forests.
Hälsingland, Sweden
61° 43′ N / 16° 55′ E
Dark forests, glassy lakes, winters that test both people and gear. That's how we know what we make holds up.
Top quality, no middlemen.
The hammocks are sewn at a small partner factory — we work directly with the maker, no long chain in between. We fill the underquilts and topquilts through a down supplier we deal with directly, so we can vouch for the fill ourselves: 850 fill power, RDS-certified down. You pay for the gear — not for five resellers along the way.
And I test every range myself. Two nights in the rain. Four in sub-zero. If it doesn't hold up, it gets redone. That's what being small means — and it's exactly how we want it.
“Top quality and good value. Those two words rarely go together — but at Momo Jord they do.”
Materials we use
70d & 10d ripstop nylon · 850 FP RDS down · 210T PU3000mm tarp fabric · UHMWPE line (same material as Dyneema) · 925 sterling silver in the jewellery range.
Six principles that guide everything we do.
What I (and Hanna) want with Momo Jord is simple: good gear, honestly sold. No mission statement in the background — just this list, stuck to the fridge in the workshop.
No filler products
We only sell things we use ourselves. If it doesn't make it into our own pack, it doesn't make it into the shop either.
Tested in rain, snow, sun
Every product gets properly tested before we sell it. Two nights in the rain. Four in sub-zero. If anything fails, it gets redone.
Small & honest
We're not big. Stock comes in small batches. That sometimes means sold out — and always means you're talking straight to us.
Genuinely good
Top quality, no middlemen, good value with no compromise on the materials. Exactly how hammocking should be.
Nordic nature
Everything we make is built for Nordic conditions. 350 cm hammocks. The UQ800 with comfort down toward −10 °C, holding down to −15 °C. Winter is part of the deal.
30-day returns
Try it at home. If it doesn't fit, we pay the return shipping. Seriously.
Hammocking for real.
