Use your ridgeline safely
The ridgeline is strung between trees to hang the tarp over. It’s strong — but stick to what it’s made for.
Before every use
Have a quick look over the line and the fastenings. Frays, burn marks, knots that won’t come undone — don’t use it. Get in touch with us.
How to use it
- String the line between two living, healthy trees. Use tree huggers around the trunk, not the line directly against the bark — it cuts in.
- Hang the tarp from the loops or over the line with carabiners.
- Tension it as tight as you need, but not so tight that the fastenings creak. The line can take more than the fastenings do.
Don’t use it for
- Climbing or fall protection
- Hanging people (that’s the hammock’s job, not the ridgeline’s)
- Towing or heavy loads
- Anything other than hanging a tarp or smaller accessories
Care
Rinse off dirt. Store it dry and loose — knots left in for storage tire the material over time.
